Background
Guangzhou Medical University, founded in 1958, takes advantage of its medicine and carries out multi-level talent training for doctors, masters and undergraduates. This school is located in Guangzhou that is a famouse historic and cultural city. With its beautiful environment and advanced equipment, it is considered as an ideal place to study. The university has 15 secondary colleges, 8 directly affiliated hospitals and 10 non-directly affiliated hospitals, and offers 19 undergraduate majors.
Requirements
- With the increase of servers, the university needs to upgrade the server rooms. In the past, the servers were not managed centrally. However, the increased servers make it more and more difficult for managers to monitor these devices. For example:
- Potential hazards: The high temperature, complex cables. and radiation threaten managers because they always enter and exit the server rooms to check the devices.
- Lower efficiency: It is a hassle to check servers in the server rooms every time.
- Difficult to find problems: It is difficult to find out the faulty server if the manager doesn’t enter the server room.
Solution
In this case, Kinan used KC1132 (32-port Cat 5 KVM Switch), USB module CM-0906U, and KVM-CE150 Kinan extender to deal with problems for the customer.
1 KC1132 can directly control 30 servers. The CM-0906U modules can make the layout of the cables tidy and save more space. The extenders can guarantee the quality and distance of signal transmission between the control center and server room.
