LC2932i LCD KVM Console for Server Room of Chengdu Aeronautic Polytechnic

Background

Chengdu Aeronautic Polytechnic is one of the earliest institutions of higher learning in China to independently hold higher vocational education approved by the ministry of Education. It is one of the first batch of national exemplary higher vocational colleges and one of the first pilot schools in the country to pilot the targeted training of non-commissioned officers.

Issue

The 16-port KVM switch used in the past can’t effectively solve the present management problem because of the expansion of server rooms. The college has to deal with the issue that maintenance personnel can’t maintain the faulty equipment in time due to increased servers.

Potential Risk: The manager needs to check the operation of the servers, which is easy to cause potential risk because of the high temperature and radiation of the server room.

the Low Efficiency: If the managers want to check the servers, they have to enter the server room, which is not conducive to finding problems in time when one of the servers goes dowm.

Requirement

Chengdu Aeronautic Polytechnic server room has added 54 servers, which were previously allocated to design, construction, and software and hardware systems independent of each other, and server room managers need to frequently enter and exit the server room to check the servers, which leads to potential hazards and low efficiency. Therefore, it is necessary to update the system for convenient remote management of the servers.

Solution

Kinan LC2932i is an integrity of LED screen, ultra-thin keyboard, touch pad in a 1U height unit, allowing 1 remote user to access to KVM to control 32 servers via a web browser using TCP/IP protocol.

It provides a variety of automatic scanning modes to continuously monitor the server selected by the user.
BRC broadcast-Operate multiple servers at the same time.
Remote access to KVM (keyboard, video, mouse) via IP amd remote control via Java-enabled web browser. The system can be controlled at the BIOS level and at boot.

Design

Using 2 LC2932i LED KVM consoles and CM-0906U can successfully meet the control of 54 servers, local and remote control. At the same time, the network cable cabling is more convenient and low-cost.
