Background
Agricultural Bank of China (ABC) is an important part of China’s financial system, providing a variety of corporate banking and retail banking products and services, as well as financial market business and asset management business, covering investment banking, fund management, financial leasing, life insurance and other fields.
Issues
With the increase of servers, ABC Shantou Branch was facing more and more problems.
- Space reduction: Although most of the computer rooms used rack mount servers, they still used a large number of keyboards, mice, and monitors, which occupy a lot of space in the server rooms and cabinets.
- Security: It was dangerous for staff to enter and exit the server room frequently to install, debug and maintain devices.
- Troubleshooting is not timely: When a device or application failed during this period, it could cause untimely maintenance and even service interruption if the provided service of the bank increased day by day.
Requirements
- Achieve centralized control of all servers.
- Allow multiple users to manage servers simultaneously.
- Control the servers remotely and centrally.
- Control the power supply of servers in the server room.
- A unified management interface can achieve centralized control of all KVM devices.
Solution
Kinan used 2 Kinan HT2632i KVM switch to manage these servers, and provided 4 users to the network management monitoring center.
Divide the servers into two groups. Each group was connected to the centralized management software with one HT 2632i digital KVM switch and adapter modules. In this way, the users could manage the servers only with the centralized management software.
